The fallacy of relying in peer reviews in the first place

Although I don't believe the Interpreter articles are actually peer reviewed--I think they are merely peer approved--that is not necessarily unusual in the academic and professional world.

M2C, like SITH and other LDS intellectual fads, are the product of Groupthink and the academic cycle. It's easy to see why most of the world rejects the Restoration when LDS intellectuals insist on theories that both (i) contradict the teachings of the prophets and (ii) consist of bias confirmation based on "parallels," inferences, and assumptions.
